Established Trucking Company for Sale – 22 Years in Business

Description

Trucking company for sale with an operating fleet of 13 tractor trailers and 16 trailers.

Fleet

• 13 tractor trailers
• 16 trailers
• Existing equipment and operating infrastructure
• Current drivers and freight relationships subject to verification

Service area

The company primarily runs freight lanes from West Virginia, Maryland and Virginia into Connecticut and Massachusetts.

The seller reports steady year-round freight activity, including during the winter months.

Customers and freight

• Broker relationships
• Direct customer accounts
• Recurring regional lanes
• Existing dispatch and operating structure

The seller states that current demand on these routes exceeds the company's available truck capacity and that freight rates have recently improved. Buyers should verify current lane rates, load volume and customer commitments independently.

Growth

• Add tractors and trailers
• Increase driver count
• Take on additional loads within existing lanes
• Develop more direct customer accounts

Any increase in revenue or profit from fleet expansion will depend on equipment costs, driver availability, insurance, freight rates and operating expenses.

Due diligence

Buyers should verify historical financials, revenue by customer and lane, broker concentration, direct contracts, fleet ownership and financing, vehicle mileage and maintenance records, driver arrangements, fuel costs, insurance, DOT safety history and current operating authority before closing.

FMCSA registrations, DOT authority, permits and insurance requirements should also be reviewed as part of the ownership transition.
